Finally getting somewhere on my VA Benefits. I have all my doc appointments later this week. Kinda scared cause these are not my usual doctors and they are information gathering appointments that are a large part of determining my disability and if I qualify for monthly benefits. My meds help me be not so depressed but I can't hold a job. I always seem to come off as wierd somehow or not the right fit. Some days I blow the interview because I am too nervious even for the interviewerw even with my klonopin and anxiety coping skills. What do I say to the shrink? Ack! Help!

After I applied for disability benefits I had to see some of "their" doctors and I was also nervous. Plus they review my case every 3 years and I usually have to see someone then as well. The best advice I can give is just be yourself. And if you're anxious, that is actually a GOOD time to go; I know that sounds weird, but if they see how anxious you are it will actually work in your favor because it backs up what you've been saying, you know what I mean? In my case they usually just ask questions about my daily life and such. Good luck!!

Thanks. I've been practicing drooling in the mirror (kidding). Think I will do well...do not feel grounded. Even stuff I read on here does not make sense. I have been holding my cat, Cymbalta all night. Have to travel to another city by 2 city buses and then a shuttle. Most of the day will be spent traveling. I hope I do not freak out today because I have a bit of a mixed episode thing going on. Stayed up all night so I would not over sleep.

I also had to interview with one of "their" doctors... just so happened that in a medicated stupor I was on my way to make the baby a bottle, tripped over the vacuum and broke my femur (upper arm). this happened the morning of the interview. sucks that I broke my arm but it let her see what my meds did to my life. its either manic manic manic or drugged. I think thats why I got approved but grizmom is right, let them see the real you, anxious and everything. dont put on a facade for them so that they can see how the illness really jacks with you every day. GOOD LUCK NUCKINGFUTZ!
