I was wondering if anyone that has been denied social security has appealed and about how long it took to get a new answer....??

I appealed and it only took maybe 2 weeks to get my 2nd denial.

i appealed and they denied me but then I went through an attorney and not even 6 months later they approved me the first time (it was too late for an appeal) I had to see one of the disability doctors and they had to have all of my medical records etc which is why it even took as long as it did. Good luck!

I applied in the summer of 1994, was denied, then my appeal was denied, I appealed again (with a lawyer) and was accepted...I got my back-pay and my first checks in Oct. 1995. Good luck!! Here is a website someone posted in another thread: http://www.marthachurchill.com/ssmibasic.htm

A lot depends on how quickly your state processes their claims and appeals. Some are fast, others are slower than molasses.
