For the last couple hours I've been looking for a place that I could ask a question on Bipolar. I'm quite young, and I'm very sorry if it isn't the nature of these boards to answer questions, but I would really appreciate the help. I think I have bipolar. I fit all of the symptoms that I've read. My friends tell me it is just teenage stuff, and that I'll get over it, but I've been like this all my life, since I can remember more like, and therefor it doesn't make sense to me that it would just be 'teen stuff'. I want to go to a professional who can give me more information, and hopefully a diagnosis, to see if I really do have Bipolar. But I don't know where to go! I also don't really feel comfortable asking my parents for help on the subject. I'd rather deal with this by myself, but I don't think that is possible. Is there any way I could get profesional help without my parents being informed? and where would I go, and who to for a diagnosis? Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much.

I know how u feel, not wanting to go to ur parents. I know that same feeling, i have bipolar as well, and usualy I like to solve my own problems, by reading or listening, unfortunatly, I found that there is no other way than to contact my parents on this one.

Thank you all so much. My county happens to have a Mental Health Services center (I just found out actually, took me a good two hours of google-ing, but I finally found it Hello, and help please. :() Apparently they 'Provide services to those in need of counseling, crisis intervention and clinical evaluation', hopefully I can get some more info there. But in the end I will probably have to ask my parents for help.

Thanks again.

I'm glad you found someplace that can help you. Good Luck. You sound like you have a pretty good head on your shoulders! Telling your parents might turn out well. I will be thinkin' of ya!
