I am in the low end of therapeutic and I just feel flat. Blah and just there. Anyone else have experiene with Depakote?

I just started it a couple of weeks ago because when they raised my Lithium at the hospital I started having bad tremors to the point that I couldn't turn my head or walk properly. I have had no side effects that I can see but I have no spark. I am just there.

I'm on Depakote and have been on it since my last hospitalization in 2006. I was in the hospital for a very severe manic episode and I was put on heavy dosages of both Depakote and Lithium among a few other things. I'm not sure what med was responsible for it but after coming through my mania I went through a period of several months where I felt like you feel, blah and just there. I wasn't interested in doing anything but eating and sleeping. This eventually passed and I got back into living life again (although I'm still working on this to an extent).

I guess my advice would be to run these feeling by your p-doc for a medical opinion. My non-medical opinion is to hang in there, as they say, this too shall pass. For personal experience I've found that many side effects eventually wear off.

Side note: I had bad tremors in my hands and slightly in my arms a few months after beginning Depakote and lithium. Looked kind of like I had Parkinsons. It kind of freaked people out and was uncomfortable for me. From what I know both meds list tremors as a side effect. I was put on Selegiline for a while to deal with the tremors. This med was so expensive and it never worked for me so I stopped taking it. The tremors just stopped on their own a couple of months after I stopped taking the Selegiline.
