Had an emergency visit to the dr today and he switched me from seroquel 150mg at night to geodon 160mg. I am to take 1 (80 mg) tonight after a meal and two tomorrow after a meal. He didn't say whether to separate the doses or take them together. I can't really find much info on it so I am curious to find out your experiences about dosing and in general. Does it work? I am bp2, rapid cycler and mixed, also adhd/add. Also am taking 200mg lamictal.

I take 40mg in the morning and 80mg in the evening before bed. I find that it has really helped me a lot. Sometimes it can make you feel sedated but that usually passes once your body gets used to it.
I also take Lamictal and the two are a good mix for me.

Geodon has been a godsend for me. Because of it's sedating effect I take it in the evening. Hope it works well for you too.

okay, sooo, I took it last night and I am a zombie today. Weak, exhausted, can barely pick up my daughter. I don't think I can even make until it I get used to it. I take care of my daughter primarily so I can't have that. i don't know what I am going to do. I think I will up my dose of seroquel. Pdoc said I could.

Geodon can make you sleepy, but then, so can Seroquel. I always have taken my Geodon doses split in the morning and the evening. At one point I was taking 60mg at night and 60mg in the morning, but now I take 80mg at night and 20mg in the morning so it doesn't affect my energy level. I would not take 160mg all at once, but that's just my body. I probably would sleep for 14 hours if I did that. Hope this helps.

Geodon was a good med, but the sedating effects were a real problem. I had to take it at suppertime and hope that in the morning I could drive to work without falling asleep at the wheel.
