Sometimes others don't understand the illness. I personally believe that it is the responsibility of family members and close friends of someone with an illness to try to educate themselves on the illness, so they don't make stupid remarks like you described above.

I'm sorry they made that remark. Next time they do that, you should voice your opinion, say that you're glad they like it when you are well, but you really can't control how you feel all the time.

I'm glad you have had a good 2 days.
Thanks for this!

Tmac I'm glad you have had 2 good days. I have been on both sides of the fence with this one because my mom was diagnosed when I was a young child and I am also diagnosed.

I'm not sure if you're talking about children, but in my experience it's a bit of a struggle to grasp what's going on and that's what I did want as a kid and I'm sure that's what you want too.

With adults, I think it's difficult for some people to have empathy for others. I couldn't understand that for the longest time because I'm a very sensitive person and am sensitive to others moods / feelings.

You have every right to be annoyed, angry etc., but I don't know how you teach others how to be empathetic. For me I have people in my life that I can discuss what's going on with me emotionally etc. and others that just don't get that I still experience bipolar symptoms even though I'm medicated and in therapy.

I hope you have 200 more good days!
