Right, so they did mention something about the revolving door of the psych ward. This time I've really benefitted I think from being there. I feel pretty good with new medication and seem to have a more sane perspective of things. The whirling storm and battleground of my brain has come to a calmer temperament. Probably first time I've felt like this in years.
Sometimes the hospital's a real pain in the arse but other times the bitter medicine is good. (whatever works.) |

Yes I can agree, but we are lucky it's not like it was 20 years ago! We are especially lucky to be in Canada. I hope this set of meds works for you.

I really feel for people who have so many hospitalizations. I am lucky to only have had two in 27 years and the last one was 1992. I have been up and down since and I would not be worried to go in again if I felt it was the best thing.

I am glad you've found this admission to be helpful. I personally have had 6 admissions, and I know how much of a pain they can be. Please know that even if you need to go back again, it's not a big deal. What really matters is becoming stabilized, and if that requires a hospital admission, then so be it. That being said, I wish you stability for a very long time.

Yep, the hospital can be a revolving door. I have been hospitalized....well, I've sort of lost count. I think it is over 8 times in 20 years. The last one was a year ago. But I am glad it has helped you!

I've had 11 in 5 years. It's nice to be on a first name basis with all the nurses and techs though.

Four in a year, and I agree with Chris. There are people there who i credit with saving my life several times.

I'm so glad to hear you've managed to get on a much more stable path. It is so frightening when you reach the point and realise that the only safe and comfortable place really is the hospital.
