Hi all! I realized I need to refill my prescripion (um, today actually, meant to post earlier--oops!) for Lamictal. I've always gone with the name brand, but have decided to try a month's worth of the generic (since I now have the PMHNP on board and am not flying solo).

Teva seems to have a pretty good reputation with lamotrigine, but there is another brand, Taro, that I was wondering if anyone had experience with. There are 3 brands available where I get my prescriptions and I've already tossed one option out, leaving these two. I'm asking just in case I get there ane there is a price difference.

Good experiences or bad experiences with generic lamotrigine from Teva or Taro specifically? Thanks!!!

I had a good experience with Teva lamotrigine. At first I was scared switching from the name brand to generic, but I honestly couldn't tell the difference between Teva's and Lamictal. And I was up to 300mg when I switched over. Haven't had any experience with Taro.

I take generic lamotrigine and I can't tell any difference between the brand name and the generic.

Good for you for being aware of your medications and not blindly filling a prescription that is unfamiliar to you. First, please consult with your pharmacist. They are legally qualified to dispense advice and unfortunately, often are more aware of the medications that doctors are prescribing.

Secondly, you might want to consider moving this thread to the medications forum. I think that you might find some more information there and inspire others to question their treatment.

Im proud of you, you are doing the right thing
