Hi Everyone-
As I previously posted, I did not like the way the Depakote made me feel. I decided to go off of it last week. I know that was most likely not the smartest thing to do. Anyway, I woke up on the third day without the Depakote, with a purple rash all over my body. It looked like somebody whacked me all over. Ever since then, I have been having weird rash isses. I called my pdoc who said that it was most likely due to low platelet counts. Has anyone ever had an experience with this? Also, if you are having physical issues due to the meds, do you see your GP or Pdoc? I know my pdoc is also an internist, but it seems weird having him treat physical things. He never does more than talk with me. Thanks. |

I would think the rash was caused by the depakote if you just started it. Either it is an allergic reaction or the depakote is what lowered your platelet counts. I could be wrong but that just seems to strange to be two seperate things.
Did your pdoc replace the depakote with something else?
