I am so fed up!

I got called into the office and told off for being inappropriate in a works meeting about clients. I had a slight disagreement with a colleague who I am very fond of and who I usually get on well with. He was absolutely fine about it. How is it inappropriate to have a discussion about clients in front of colleagues? The other thing I got told off about was equally stupid though for confidential reasons I cannot mention it.

I left the office so angry and frustrated this afternoon that I walked to the park and shouted at the ducks. I just feel I am being picked on unecessarily. I was on the verge of telling her where to stuff her bloody job.

How much of my rage and instabilty is to do with mood instabilty and how much is to do with being treated unfairly I really do not know. I just hate everyone at the moment!

(((((((( donut )))))))))

You are in a stressful job and so are your colleagues but even so they should not be bullying you. Don't forget you can use the 'whistle blowing' if you need to but in the meantime keep sticking up for yourself and do good self-care.

Sounds like you do have a hot temper right now, that may be mood-related. Keep in mind that it doesn't really matter whether you think you did wrong or not, if the boss says so, then it is so. i'm not trying to be smart, it's just the unfortunate way things are. So, just calm down over the weekend and put on a brave front next week. don't argue about it, never helps. This is from experience of my own.

donut so sorry to hear that. Work stress can be a trigger for my BP, but in saying that it can be natural for some people to get angry/frustrated in those situations. What I find differentiates between mood disorder issues and natural feelings is comparing it to my "normal" reactions. At times the BP can amp natural feelings up by 100 for me.

I'm not sure if you work weekends, but if you don't take this time to unwind and do something that you enjoy. Most of us need our jobs, so the key is to keep your behavior in check i.e. what you did may not have warranted being spoken to, but now that it's been brought to your attention you can prevent it from happening again. Yes it can be difficult, but it's required in the work world.

Hi folks and thanks for replies.

I saw my doc who has signed me off for two weeks. He says I am not right. He has prescribed two more meds to the mix. I am quite glad he has taken the decision out of my hands.

I hope you feel better soon. I could see my pdoc was also itching to book me off. I'm in a job I hate so much - I work up to 10 hours/day, get no satisfaction....I told my bf I want to leave, as I get depressed every monday morning. I also have a real rage issue; I try take a Klonopin when I feel things getting out of hand

Just wondering...what kind of work do you do?
I know we were not allowed to discuss clients with another colleague if others were around. But I worked in mental health so we were bound by HIPPA laws.
I hope she told you this privately and not in front of others. My supervisor raked me over the coals once in front of all my colleagues and it sucked.
