I can't seem to relax. I am doing too many thing at once. I'm making dinner, Writing in my journal, online and watching TV. My mind is racing. I want to get some air but its really cold outside. Smoking (I know bad) doesn't seem to relax me. My fiance is sick, he is sleeping. I hate this feeling. I don't have anyone to talk too. Has anyone ever felt this anxiousness and nervousness.alond with constantly racing and changing thoughts?

Yeh, minus the smoking (I have asthma) it sounds like my morning. It was really annoying to try and be thinking about what I needed to do to get ready for an appointment, obsessing over the meaning of really weird dreams last night and couldn't get Patsy Cline out of my head!!!!!

Oh, and then my son picked up on it and started running about the house stark naked from window to window.

I have definitely gone through times when I can't relax at all. Do you ever do deep breathing or meditation exercises? Or listening to meditation music....the deep breathing takes practice but it definitely can help.

I can explain how to do it if you want.

Take deep breaths!

Try to go through a relaxation phase...imagine yourself relaxing one body part at a time. Start with your toes and work your way up. Close your eyes and concentrate on your regulated breathing. It always helps me

I feel like this a lot! For me, when I'm in that state, I have to try and stop doing 10 things and just focus on 1 thing. If I'm making dinner, then I'm making dinner. If I'm journallng then I'm journaling. My tendency is to try and do a whole bunch of stuff at once but that winds me up like a spring until I'm ready to snap.

Also, if I'm already having a hard time relaxing then I personally find the TV and the internet too stimulating. I need to turn those things off and have silence if possible. I was reading somewhere - and now I can't remember where - that it's restful for the brain to focus on just one task for a sustained period. Obviously that isn't usually possible, but I do find it helpful when I am able to do it! Meditation is a great way to train your brain to focus on just one thing.....

I think your idea of going out for some fresh air is a really good one. Sorry it's so cold where you are!!!

Sending you peaceful vibes!!
