Why do I cry everytime I am confronted with something? For instance my dad was talking aboout changing my diet up a little to help with this person problem I am encountering. Nothing rude, just looking out for my best interest. However I still decided to cry for no apparent reason. It was uncontrollable to I just had to cry. Could this be due to my bipolar diagnoses?

I don't know if it has to do with bipolar or not, but I'm the same way... I get very emotional over the smallest things and can't do a thing about it!
Thanks for this!

I'm glad there is someone else like me that gets super emotional over stuff for no reason. It's so frustrating some times being unable to control the feeling of crying.

I'm the same, My tears are VERY inappropriate... These days I'm doing my best to keep them at bay. I must admit tho, since I've been on medication, my first response is no longer tears...

I hope you find a way around it soon♥

I used to cry a lot when I was younger (teens and early twenties). It got better with time (and working on my mental strenght and coping techniques). I am able to "post-pone" my initial reaction now to a degree... and than when I am finally allowed to react... I sometimes no longer feel like it.

It depends on my mood...I will either blow my lid or cry. There is nothing wrong with it, but I know I have to get my emotions under control...I think that is something we all struggle with

I am the opposite. I don't cry. But I do get really angry sometimes and have an outburst. I think I would rather cry.

I cry even when I'm angry. And when I'm sad, and when I'm happy, and when there's a save the children spot on tv, and when the Peanuts gang fixes Charlie Brown's tree and sings "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"...yeah, I cry pretty much at the drop of a hat these days.

I cry when I am not medicated properly very inappropriately - I will cry when asked to do anything good or bad for no reason and it totally SUCKS. Right now I am ok, but I am taking a lot of meds. I am not too depressed also. I hate it when I am like that. Sorry you are going through that it is no fun.

I have noticed myself much more emotional lately (last few months or so... pretty much since I started getting help for my swings). I cry over nothing at all. I could see a commercial on TV that had a puppy in it or something and tear up like I just got news a family member died.

However, when faced with confrontation I get super angry even when it is nothing to get angry about, and I get very defensive. It's strange, and frustrating....very frustrating.

I am the same. I hate it. My parents have asked me to explain it and I just cant. I cry over everything lately too. Since starting mood stabilizer I am EXTREMELY emotional. I dont feel depressed. I cried watching play of 'sleeping beauty' at the local drama club. Wat a gimp. I cried leaving friends yesterday. Wonder if it is Bipolar that does it to us?

I am bipolar and I cry from the slightest stressor or emotionally charged situation. I attribute it to the BP but I also wonder if maybe I didn't hit a stress max level and ever since I have little capacity to cope with stress as a consequence. I know I managed stress much better when I was younger and before my last major crash thus my theory about maxing out on stress.

I cope for the most part. I tell people to ignore the tears because sometimes they just come because I am feeling a little anxious or feeling emotional about the subject talked about. The tears don't mean I am sad or depressed. I will usually take a few deep breaths and focus on relaxing to try to reduce the stress response and control the urge to cry beyond shedding a few tears. I am limited in my life style because of how easily I can be triggered to cry over the slightest stressors.

Flawlessimperfectionsmft, I get a mix. A lot of times I don't cry, even when I'd like to. Other times emotional over the dumbest things. Most always I'm able to stifle in an intense moment at work, (though it should be noted I've worked quite a number of male-dominated type jobs--not that I think that should make a difference, mind you, but...), but then totally lose it later, say, by the moment I get to the car... One that comes to mind was this total FDB boss, who got me alone and really was hitting below the belt ("No one likes you", the whole bit...all the while knowing I was new to the area and knew no one but the people at work. I quit before he had a chance to fire me in his little rampage. Bastard.). Thing was, I was intensely determined not to give him the satisfaction. That was REALLY hard. It's especially hard in intense encounters when someone is yelling at me. I have a big problem with that, as I try so hard to do the right thing, and take it very personally, even if it isn't meant that way. Rejection the same way. I used to lose it a lot more watching, say, movies, but not nearly so often now w/ dx and meds.

But really, so often, no, can't. But when the floodgates open, stand back. It's big. And not unusual to be over something that others might not understand why the major reaction. Just depends.

I feel overwhelmed all the time. And I know I'm being ridiculous, that it actually is not such a big deal. But I let it get to me. In certain situations I blow my lid, and at other times I just break down into tears.
It's very frustrating - this morning I managed to shout at my boyfriend and 10 seconds later, burst into tears - go figure! Poor guy

That's exactly how I am most of the time. I feel so bad for my boyfriend.
