Saw the pdoc today. He lowered my Effexor and upped my Klonipin a little. But, no more Seroquel. JOY!!!
So far, I am maintaining a slightly elevated mood and no depression.
Wish me luck!

Took me off it because he wanted to elevate my mood. Severely depressed for 9 months.

Great news to hear!

What is Seroquel usually prescribed for? It seems like there are a lot of varying reactions to its use and side-effects.

I find the Klonopin calms me...

Seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic used in the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar I mania and depression, bipolar II depression, and used off-label for a variety of other purposes, including insomnia and anxiety disorders. Honestly...all it did to me was knock me out the first time...for 16 hours...make me feel like a freaking zombie...then the second time ...a panic attack...because my blood pressure dropped suddenly..and i got scared.

And how's its use for depression? Is it helpful?

Seroquel made me a zombie for a year and a half. Couldn't wake up in the mornings at all and had dizzy spells. Seroquel is not typically used as an antidepressant for unipolar depression.

Sorry - I meant for the depression part of bipolar? The Wellbutrin, even at a low dose, is keeping my more or less hypomanic at the moment...
I actually don't think I've heard of anyone using Seroquel in South Africe - maybe need to investigate if it is marketed under a different name...

So, how are you feeling now? I hope still good

Seroquel can help bipolar depression by stabilizing mood. I'm still doing OK. Thanks for asking. It's been a real roller coaster lately. Hugs.
