So, I was diagnosed with bpd a couple days ago (yay...) and all of a sudden everything was different.
I mean, I've totally had the manic-depression (that's what it's called, RIGHT?) thing before, but the diagnosis seemed to turn it up a LOT. um... I don't really know if that's normal, or I'm just weird in that way as well...

Might be that you're learning about it and noticing various aspects that you hadn't. Plus, if you've been given meds they probably haven't had time to get you to a theraputic dose yet.

generally bpd is used for Borderline Personality Disorder, on this site,, if you mean BiPolar, it's just BP,,, sometimes getting any validation can send your enthusiasm thru the roof, that might be what's happened, with you,, anyway,, do try to come to our support groups and see if you find anything useful ? best wishes~ Gus

Hi willowful when were you diagnosed with bipolar? For me I became more aware of my moods after I was diagnosed, but I would still let your Psychiatrist know because the meds may need to be changed or adjusted.

I think that you are just more aware of your moods now. And you could be psyching yourself out too. Just take a deep breath and relax. I went through the same thing. I was like OMG!!! I am manic or depressed or whatever. Then once I calmed down so did my moods. You may think you are fine with the diagnosis but sometimes you are not aware of how you are really reacting to the news. Hope things get better
