The new calendar year started along with a new Part D insurance company. They have a limit of 30mg for Concerta (which comes in 18mg, 36mg, and 72mg) so I had to drop it and change to long acting ritalin (lasts about 4 hours) twice a day; didn't want to cover my 90mg of Cymbalta although they relented. I expected to pay an initial $150 plus copays and that copays would be 10-30-45 each approximately... found out that copays for brand names are 38% of the cost!!! Abilify was over nine hundred dollars! I paid $336 for it. My meds for this month were approx. $560. What a shock. Also, I'll be in the donut hole next month and have to pay the next $4,500 dollars. I'll have to pay more than a thousand dollars a month for the next 4-5 months. I'll have to put my meds on my credit card, which I had almost paid off. I knew it would be coming but it is still a shock to the system.
Thanks for letting me whine. |
