Hi all, been so happy in new home in Colorado Springs, and then depression hit outta nowhere and it dawned on me this will be my reality for the rest of my life, Altho my coping skills are much better and its debilitating but not I dont know what the word is, I mean i'm on disability so its bad, but Its not like how I used to get. Sleeping all day, not eating, not talking to friends or family. So i guess I'll take that as an improvement and go about the day Gotta grocery shop tonight, fun fun. I need to figure out a budget cause I'm going through food way too fast. Hugs have a great day all.

I know. It is hard to think about how depression can always strike. You're right that all we can do is find tools to use to cope better.

Nothing's wrong with Colorado Springs, I love it, but my family, friends, support network are all in Buffalo, I have 4 friends in Colorado and they are busy all the time

Yeah, acceptance of our illness can be difficult. I try to think of it this way: I will always be bipolar, but I will not always be sick. I do what I can during the good periods and try to be gentle with myself during the bad spells. I hope the depression lifts quickly for you.

I just moved and it's been hard to get to know people. And those I get to know all have work and lives so I understand your frustration. Can you volunteer for something?

hi how r u? TY For writing, there is a Humane Society five minutes from my house and I am working on getting well and caught up on my rest and then volunteering there. I had insomnia for a month straight while at my friends house before I moved out and am trying to catch up now.

Make sure you take it at your own speed. Accept that you are allowed to take the time you need.

I believe healing is possible... you don't have to be always feeling but. It may be the mainstream "knowledge" but it doesn't have to be so.
