after recently being diagnosed with bp my new doc () started me on a small dose of fluoxetine (lovan) and lithium carbonate. previous to this i was really sick (depression ocd anxiety paranioa)
so this new diagnosis was very important to me and i could never thank my doc enough for treating my symptoms/illness froma new angle.
anyways i returned to him after 3 or so months and said just about all the aspects in my life have improved ie relationship at all time high, losing weight, nicer person.
but still ocd at times and anxiety at times, so he said i will try you on something else as well as lithium and at a higher dose.
so now im on 150mg of luvox. i feel that my symptoms are better if it wasnt for the insomnia so im feeling a bit rusty and hallucinating from time to time..
Is anyone familiar with luvox? is 7 weeks a long enough shot ?
i think the alternative is back to fluoxetine (lovan) unless i can persuade him otherwise..
stay well guys

If you are still struggling with OCD and anxiety then your doc is probably right to tinker with your medications. I started on lithium alone and went through several different cocktails until finally finding one that got me pretty much under control. It can take some time to find a combination that works right for you, so you may need to be a little patient as your doc works with you. It may really help you to start a mood journal to keep track of your mood and feelings every day. As you are looking at new options for meds this can really help you and your doctor find the best course of treatment.

Best wishes for a successful treatment plan
Mac
