I saw my pdoc today and she is going to take me off of Seroquel!

As most of us here know Seroquel can cause a lot of weight issues - I started on it on 2007, gained probably 30-40 lbs and have not been able to lose the last 15 no matter what I do, which has included diet doctors, personal trainers and nutritionists...
Cutting from 200 to 100 for next 2 weeks, than to 50 for 2 weeks after that.

Yay me!

That's great jadedmoonbeam! I had the same issue with seroquel. You may want to ask for a sleeping pill prescription. I found I had issues with falling asleep when I first started to taper down.

Thank you!
I already take Ambien and I have Xanax I can take. I know it's baby steps but I'm so excited!

Yay! I'm so glad for you. I'm still on seroquel, and I don't think I'll be coming off it any time soon... and yes, it did make me balloon up something terrible.

Congrats. I am also on Seroquel but it is not feasible for me to go off it cause it helps me a lot. I hope when you get off of it completely that you can loose the rest of the weight.

I think the dr sees I'm working really hard to change and maintain a less stressful life. It has not been easy for me to get to this place and I will hope I will keep going. I appreciate everyone's support!

i had to stop taking Seroquel also because of weight gain. it did help me sleep though, even though i have Ambien...even that stopped working after a while. i have Ativan and would sometimes have to take both or an Ambien and a half to get some sort of sleep. now i take klonopin instead of ambien but IM STILL AWAKE!!!!!!
