Any experience with Saphris you'd like to share? I've been give a choice of several meds and have no idea which one to go with. Saphris, Latuda, Risperidone, Abilify, Invega, or of course I can choose ECT. My head is spinning. HELP!!!

The only problem I have had with Saphris is the awful taste. You let it melt under your tongue and cannot eat or drink for ten minutes so the taste just stays in your mouth. I've found that using mouthwash beforehand really helps. Other then that, the medicine worked fast to stabalize me and is great.
Thanks for this!

i just started saphris two days ago... so far i haven't noticed too much of a difference, beyond the taste (blech, but doable... i have black cherry, it's supposed to be the less gross), and my tongue goes numb for awhile after i take it, but i fall asleep pretty quickly so it's not so bad. Oh, and there's a little dizziness. However, my hope is that in a couple of weeks side effects will level out?

i'm really interested to hear about others' experience with this....

I had no idea it came in flavors! Is black cherry the only other one? Do you just request that at the pharmacy or does the doc have to specify?

no clue.... the dr. prescribed black cherry for me, 'cause she said it was the most tolerable on taste (must remember to thank her....).

I never even heard of Saphris. But I did want to share about Invega since you mentioned it might be an option. It made my boobs swell and leak milk. No, at the time I was not pregnant, but it's a side effect. I didn't mind the bigger boobs, but the leaking was gross. The moment I mentioned it to my pdoc she changed me to Geodon. It took 2 mos before my boobs went back to normal.
