I saw a psychiatric physician's assistant today and he changed/added 3 meds after consulting with my psychiatrist. I am extremely anxious and depression is quickly falling over me. Yesterday I thought "I can always kill myself if it gets too badI ". (I am NOT actively suicidal) The thoughts are both reassuring and scary. Today more of the same along with thinking about self harm that I haven't done in almost 2 years. All these thoughts keep coming up. There is a reason why I started to become anxious but now it is like a ball rolling downhill as my thoughts circle and race through my head. I don't know what to do because there is nothing I can do to change the situation.

BTW, lamotrigine was increased from 200mg to 300mg, propranolol was added to address my akathisia which has increased with the anxiety, and trazodone was added to help me sleep. Nothing to deal with the anxiety. I don't know why. I guess my current problems with sleep were seen as most important to deal with.

Anne, I take propanolol for anxiety. It takes the physical reaction to anxiety away and for me that helps me get control of my thoughts.( nothing has been doing that lately, though) I take it PRN. It has been prescribed to people who need to do public speaking or stressful things so that they can be less jittery and nervous.

.

Thanks for telling me that. I took the Ambien and 50mg of Trazodone last night and slept 4 hous and after another A I slept 3 hours for a total of 7 hours. I feel groggy, my eyes are tired. The rest of me is not tired. I am still up 2 - 3 hours early than my norm. I also checked my blood pressure. It was 111/80 while it had been 160/80 at the doctor's office. I don't feel nervious (yet) but I feel empty. What a long update. Still have depressive symptoms though

Thanks for replying to me.

Propanolol is also used to help control high blood pressure and reduce the liklihood of migranes occuring. Also some people have higher blood pressures just from being at the doctor's office. Give the propanolol a chance it will improve things.

So many ssssss anneinside!!! I could have written this part word for word (except "scary") if only I were as brave as you. It's an absolutely awful place to be. Hope it comes back up for you soon. Forumites have been very helpful in getting me to a place of being able to deal with similar feelings better. The times of respite are not as often as I'd like, but definitely helpful nonetheless. I hope you find the support here helpful for your situation too. In a big way!!!

Glad to hear they are tweaking changing/adding meds. I hope you find this change very helpful. Please keep us posted, ok, anneinside?
