I started Wellbutrin on Monday. Any thoughts, opinions, experiences? So far I don't feel much, but I noticed today that I am more dizzy than I usually am from meds.

I got really agitated and angry on it. Gave me crazy thoughts. Most people seem to like it here thought I think. So my experience may have been against the norm.

I am on it. It makes me feel lightheaded and dizzy especially at the beginning. My pdoc is actually taking me off of it cause it made my anxiety worse. I was on a pretty small dose but I felt like it definitely took the edge off of my depression.

I've been on it for years. I take 200 MG and I think it helps me with depression. I still get sad but not the deep depression I used to get.

I've been on wellbutrin xl 150mg for 30 days. So far I find I have more energy to start my days and feel much less lethargic. Pdoc bumped it up to 300 today. Anxious to see how this goes.

No side effects that I have seen, at least so far.

i take the generic of wellbutrin SR. i'm on the highest dosage now, but i started at the bottom. each time i started a dosage, i would feel AWESOME for like 2 weeks. i could focus, i had no cloudy mind, my anxiety was calmer, i could sit still, & my critical thinking skills were back! but then it would slowly just drift away, & i would kind of plateau into a really blah state. this happened with every dosage! so now i'm taking it, but i'm just waiting to go back to my psychiatrist to get something else. i'm actually supposed to be taking it twice a day, but i stopped the afternoon one, because it was making me a vegetable. i couldn't do anything at all but stare catatonically at my tv. now at least even if i'm not motivated, i can still get a few things done. not as much as a normal person, but more than i used to get done.

I've been on wellbutrin forever. I've had no problems with it.

At first I felt like a new person. A lot more energy and the depression was a lot better; I never got into that dark place.

Now I am noticing the aggitation and anger are getting quite extreme. I need to weigh up if this is what I want. My concentration has aldo been all over the place, and I sometimes take Concerta.

I initially went through an unstable period with some rapid cycling intense emotions of anger and sadness (but not depression) as well as huge amounts of energy and excitement when I first started using it. Fortunately the Pdoc and a friend convinced me to keep taking it as it was bringing years of emotional detritus out and would eventually settle.

I similarly experienced dizziness initially and I also had some manic days where I couldn't sleep because I didn't feel at all tired and yet performed at 110% at work the next day - of course I utterly crashed the next night and day. . It can however also accentuate both anxiety hyper sexuality, which I counter with a Beta Blocker.

That being said there is some points of interest around it for guys - One I gather is that unlike several other AD's it doesn't damage the DNA of your spermtoza - reducing the risks of birth defects other AD's might promote if you wish to father children at a later stage.

A friend also claimed he read a study that noted that the children of fathers taking it were inherently less anxious than their similarly aged peers - but I suspect it's more because, due to the meds, dad didn't convey his bipolar behaviour as much while they were growing up.

My Psychiatrist prescribed Wellbutrin to help me with my ADD and Anxiety. The first couple of days I felt great, very focused and full of energy but I started to snap at people. Today is my fifth day on this medication and I hate. I have been getting angry to the point of tears for any little thing. I have been emailing my dr. but neither the dr. or nurse has responded. I want to stop this medicine, but I'm afraid to just cut it off. Anyone know if I can just stop without messing up my brain?

My doc prescribed me wellbutrin along with my seroquel xr prescription in order to fight the depression I had been experiencing. It seemed to really help my moods, however, I started to get chest pains from it. After a trip to the ER ruled out any heart issues, my doctor and I decided that it would be a good idea to stop taking the wellbutrin. I haven't had a chest pain since. It's different for everyone though.
