Hello -
I just finished a course of corticosteroids for an allergic reaction, including IV solumedrol. I have been experiencing extreme anxiety, mania, depersonalization, difficulty concentrating. Basically - nuts. I ended up in the ER from a panic attack 2 days ago. Never experienced it to that extent in my life - didn't even recognize it as a panic attack - thought I was having a heart attack at the time. I took my last prednisone dose today and I am still feeling totally whacked out. Has anyone here experienced this? if so, what did you do? I am on Lexapro 12.5 and was supposed to start Geodon but haven't yet b/c of all this going on (just got bipolar diagnosis a couple weeks ago). ANy recommendations? I havent been able to drive, work etc for a week. This is making me lose it.
THanks
Laura

Steroids can really mess with BP Disorder.

Jane Pauly was put on cortizone like steroids and went completely bonkers and that's how she was diagnosed with BP Disorder.

People who are even put on Predinsone who are BP go crazy sometimes while taking them.

Wow, thanks for this post! Now I know to stay away from that stuff, if at all possible.
