So been on lactimal for 6 weeks.
Saw Pdoc last thursday, he told me i'd be able to pick up my new lot on Monday, which was the day mine ran out.
So on Monday i went to the doctors, they said they hadnt received the presc. so come back tuesday, i went in tues morning and they said that i could either pick them up after 5pm or get them from the pharmacist today, so today i went to the pharmacist at 9am and they said they werent there and to call my doctors, i called my doctors and they said they had just faxed it, i went back the pharm. at 5pm and they said it still wasnt there, so they called my doctors and the doctor said it will be there tomorrow.
I am working all day tomorrow, so if it isnt there on my lunch break i wont get it til friday, so that will be nearly a week of my meds. Which i'm sure defies the whole point in being on them.
The point is it shouldnt take a week from him prescribing it to me being able to get it. I'm in the UK by the way.
Luckily its not affecting my mood that badly cause i'm quite low anyway, but i feel really dizzy and like i'm craving something.
Not happy with them at all.

Call out an emergency doctor... or nominate someone to pick it up for you tomorrow? And by the way, that's bloody awful.

That's horrible - you should be able to get them faster than that.
Sometimes drug stores mess up - I waited 10 days for one of my meds last month because they faxed the wrong doctor - twice.
I hope you can find someone to pick up your med tomorrow - do you have anyone who can do that for you?
Maybe it's time to switch drugstores too - my drug store is open from 8 am to midnight. That would make things easier for you.

Its the doctors surgery's fault, they didnt send the fax, and they said that my doctor hadnt prescribed it, he'd just 'added it to the screen,' like i am meant to know what that means.
I havent got anyone who can get them for me tomorrow which is really annoying so i'm really hoping that they will be at Boots.
I feel this has halted the progress i was making.

Is there any place you can send a letter to explaining this whole situation you are going through. Someone has got to be held responsible for this mix-up.

What they have to understand is that people with bipolar disorder need their meds. on time because the suicide rate goes up when people cannot get their meds. on time.

They have to realize that this disorder is a very serious one and no more mix-ups can or will be tolerated.

Send in an e-mail or a letter to the head of whomever messed up here and let them know that this is a serious matter.

Good Luck!

In the past when I've been ill and the meds aren't right, I've phoned the NHS emergency help line, and they've got a doctor out to me, out of hours. But they don't tend to carry antipsychotics around... I got five diazepam. Not sure how helpful that would be... but perhaps you could tell them what meds you need, and the doctor could bring them out?

But it would be great if you could get someone to pick them up for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll get them somehow tomorrow, either in your lunch break or by pal post.

If i go to Boots on my lunch tomorrow and they arent there, then i will be very upset and i write a letter of complaint to the doctors.
I feel very tired and spaced out, its only 8.40, but i feel like i need to go to bed

Hey Widgets,

That is ridiculous!! I would complain to your GP's etc. I would call in advance to Boots and say you definately need them for your lunch hour. If they say they don't have them call your GP's in the morning and make sure they have definately faxed your script over to Boots.
