MY OPINION: Honestly why shouldn't she be? I feel just because we suffer from bipolar that shouldn't mean we should be singled out from anything. We already feel we should be but that shouldn't ever stop us from doing or achieving we want to in life.

They allow Jim Carey make movies, so why wouldn't it be okay for her to be on that show?

When anyone famous is known to be BP, I think it lessens the stigma a little bit. That's why I was so happy that Catherine Zeta-Jones came out as having bipolar because it would lessen the stigma of it a little bit.

I get why they want her. She is going to really have some moments, but I also believe that we all can be what we want in life no matter our issues. If she really wants this then I will be her cheerleader.

Health screenings and all sorts to check people can cope with the types of mental stress they migh be under.
She is also a recovering drug addict and alcoholic and she is drinking in there.

Widgets, I agree with you that putting someone with a disability into an environment that will excacerbate their disability is very wrong. The mere fact that she's drinking alcohol is terrible... they've caused her to relapse. If I put someone in a situation where they relapsed, and became poorly, I would rightly be prosecuted for it. It's sickening that people think of this as entertainment. I haven't watched BB for years... I'm really sorry to hear this is happening.

None of us would be allowed on there.
So her managers are probably signing some contract that says, give us X amount and we won't sue if she gets ill because of it.
I totally understand she shouldn't be stopped from doing what she wants, but the situation isn't designed for people who aren't completely stable.
It would be like putting someone in a onto a foot pitch and expecting them to play like everyone else.

Big Brother is a completely different monster from the theatre & movie industry. The former is simply "reality tv" which exploits to the masses certain people's interpersonal ******** that doesn't ultimately matter to begin with, but stresses unnecessarily the people involved... Meanwhile, the latter, is art. BPs are creative, so they should be unstigmatised if not revered in movies/television/music. But to put themselves in an environment where they are going to exacerbate their condition &, as a result of stress, their heath for no other reason than sheer capitalism? If she relapses & falls ill, it's her fault. She doesn't seem to want to take care of herself anyway. It's not up to BB to make her decisions for her.

Ok everyone, I had no idea what the hell Big Brother was. I thought it was a sitcom.

If it's a show that is some sort of reality show, I think it is pretty lame to let her on it, especially because it may trigger her and the whole thing will be watched as she has episodes.

I do believe this is a money making adventure and it sux that they would use someone with this disorder in that show.

I know that we can say she should know better, but if she's not entirely well at the moment then I think she's less culpable than her management team. Anagnosia (is that how it's spelled?) is quite common when someone's symptomatic in a lot of mental disorders, and I don't think she knows how ill she is.

I still think that they should have pulled her out the moment she started drinking again.

Hi as soon as I saw her face I thought OMG I hope it doesn't destroy her,or she gets slated due to her mental health,there's some cruel,ignorant people out there.

i hope she is ok. But ultimately it was fame that harmed her most in the first place, especially with the drug addiction.
She went in i'm a celebrity get me out of here, (another reality TV show) and that was her downfall, she fell apart after that.
I want her to stay strong and show she can deal with it, but i dont think she has the strength.
Its all about a lot of people around her making money at the end of the day. Why are so many celebs exploited like this? Makes me mad.

I think they all choose to exploit themselves. There are so many people out there, like all of us at PC, who are vastly more concerned with getting well/stable than seeing how much money we can make & how many people we can shock or impress.

True, but i for one understand a need for acceptance and attention and for life to just be something different, i think she is searching for that in all the wrong places.
She started off just a normal girl, who wanted to be a singer, and she did that, then obviously fame went to her head, which was probably always going to happen.
I'm sure a lot of her worst decisions have been made under mania.
If i had access to the resources she does, i'm not sure i'd have the willpower not to go crazy when i'm feeling crazy.
