My husband thinks I am manic.

I think I am just excited about something I learned and want to start using.

I want to change my family from eating processed foods to eating whole foods. and I am excited about it. I cant stop talking about it and I want to start ASAP. We went food shoppping at a local farm and got almost everything we needed. Picked the rest up at the supermarket. I couldn't find some of the nutrition info on the labels for the milk, cheese, and turkey (to find out if the turkeys are fed with corn or animal biproducts) so we are eating those blind. At least we know where some of our food comes from.

My husband is probably right. Gotta watch myself. It is confusing because I felt manic a few days ago and that lasted until the other day when I could feel myself getting depressed, but the depression never took hold and I am feeling good again.

Sometimes when I get excited about a new project it's easy to go into a mini mania. I did this just before my most recent depression (only now realised the pattern). I was getting excited about getting a dog, and was going to a lot of trouble and expense to get the place perfect for her. You only have to look in my garden shed, which I was turning into a den, to realise how bonkers I went. I am going to finish it, hopefully this week, but I look and it and think, "what did I start this for?" At least I'll have more space.

I agree with mgran. If i get excited about something I go into what mgran calls mini mania. (i like that term) My speech speeds up noticeably and I am in a more than wonderful mood. I have tons of energy and I am just as happy as a clam! But while in this state be careful not to over do it. It can easily get out of hand. As for your new take on food..it is a very healthy view and I eat all natural as well. My question is, when you have passion about something do you usually react this way, or was this one over the top?

I cant see how its bad though, as long as its staying healthy, which it is at the moment, in more ways than one! I'd probably just keep a check on yourself and try and focus on other things everyone once in a while.

I usually go over the top with the things I am excited about and I jump in with both feet. If the people I want involved don't want to do it with me I get really angry. I can monologue forever about my plans and try to convince people to do it with me. I can argue logically for my side. I have started businesses, changed careers, gone to school for a number of certifications etc, although I had no idea that was manic behavior (I was undiagnosed at the time) Then I would get depressed and stop doing the things I was interested in. I always asked myself why I couldn't just stick to something...

I have mini-manias on a regular basis. BTW, I love that term "mini-mania". So descriptive!

I have the same issues when I find a new project that I enjoy. I can work on it endlessly and not tire. So yeah ... mini mania here too (Love the term!)
