I know with BP Disorder, it is very difficult to stay at one job for a long time because we lose interest and focus, or just get fired because of our symptoms.

I have been through 8 jobs, the longest one was for 6 years, and that's the one I got fired from because I just couldn't deal with my symptoms and always had to leave early, or call out sick a whole lot. That's when I finally went on Disability because I just couldn't handle work or the people.

How many jobs have you gone through and how long was the duration of your longest one?

10 jobs, I've been at this last one for 7 years, however i have taken several leaves in order to straighten myself out.

Hey SunAngel,

I have been through 4 jobs and 1 voluntary job. I was made redundant from my 1st job after nearly 4 years of employment. I left my 2nd job after 4 years as I wanted a change. I left my 3rd job after 2 years as I got bored. Finally I was dismissed from 4th job after 3 years due to Bipolar. My only job I was sacked from due to ill health. I left my voluntary job after 9 years as I couldn't handle working there and being reminded of my career I have lost. Sad but so true
Thanks for this!

I used to say 3 years was my limit on men, jobs, and apartments, not necessarily in that order of importance. Then I found an apartment complex I really like and hope to die here (hopefully not any time soon).

I worked for agencies that supplied computer programmers to companies on an annual basis, more or less, or by project. Projects were usually less than 3 years long, sometimes only a few months. At the beginning and end of my 30-year career I was a permanent employee, but even those jobs were 3 years or less.

Even at the agency assignments, the walls would start to close in on me, I craved fresh surroundings and new people and different work - CHANGE! Yet I got fired from my last position because they claimed I couldn't handle change, or multitask - I think they lived in OppositeLand.
Thanks for this!

I have been through seven jobs. My last one I was with for 11 years but they made me go on leave because of exactly what hank said 'that I was unable to adapt to change and could not multi task. They also added in poor memory and concentration in for good measure.

I can't fault them though, they were correct on all counts. I just wish they could have found a way to work with me after 11 years.

8 jobs for me, too over the last 20 years. longest one was 5 years and it closed down, otherwise I would probably still be there. I was also out of work for a while before starting up again.
It's definitely hard to stay at one job for very long because I get bored and frustrated. I wish I could find another job tomorrow, so I could get out of here. If it wasn't for the insurance, I would not be working here.

A hand full of jobs - very varied - finally I couldn't take corporate culture anymore and set up my own business where I could focus on very short term contracts. But I had a long and heavy Bipolar episode and eventually fired myself.
Thanks for this!

8 jobs for me and i'm only 21.
I worked part time in a shoe shop for one year when i was 16.
Then decided i could do anything.
Got a job in a bank when i was 17 (how i do not know, all i know was i went into the interview and this amazing person came out of me, and really impressed them)
A year in i got bored and frustrated so moved to a building society, worked there for 3 weeks and then decided they didnt realise how brilliant i was and went back to the bank for another 2 years when i got depression and went on leave, then went into a mixed where i then i decided to quite that job and go to college.
Started a part time job while at college, which i quit due to severe depression. Then i quite college as well.
Then my mood was low for a long time, started to pick up, and i went thought 3 months of complete NORMALITY (for me) no i happily work in the post office.
The thing is at the post office, there is not as much freedom, they are ever so strict, you're constantly facing customers, i mean, not even a five minute break, and concentration is key, my lactimal induced airy-fairyness isnt helping!
Anyways, i'm now looking for another job!

Since the age of 13 till I was 30 I have been through probably a 100 jobs (literally) most only working a couple of hours to a day due to not being able to work around people or the public. The longest one I kept was for a year and I walked out on it
Thanks for this!

I've been working for 12 years and I've been through about 15-20 jobs, some of them I held at the same time though....

In 40 years I've had 27 jobs and owned 6 businesses. If I hadn't written the resume with all my jobs on it myself I wouldn't believe it.
