My good mood where I didn't care about anything is gone. In its place is a lot of irritability, a short fuse and the feeling that adrenaline is going through my body and waiting to explode out of my chest.
I feel so nervous and anxious, so much so that all I can do is sit here and go online or watch TV.

What is this? Am I coming down or going mixed? Help! I am very uncomfortable. I can't focus this energy.

To me, that means my mania has turned dysphoric. Whenever I get that type of mania, I am a true ***** and very irritable and agitated.

I have been having panic attacks and anxiety for the better part of the day. If I don't hear back from my pdoc, I may go to the ER to get checked out. They are really heavy in my chest and I have never felt anything quite so weird before. I took my anti anxiety drug propanolol and hopefully I will feel better later. When I get the attack, I feel adreniline and nervousness fill up my chest, my heart feels like it is beating hard, but not fast, and after it is done I feel drained. I think it is psysical because I am not afraid of anything right now. Might be the new med.

Ok, propanolol is a beta-blocker. It's used mostly for hypertension. Basically to control blood pressure. They just started using it for anxiety and the such.

If you still have that feeling of

after 30mins from taking that med, go to the ER and let them check you out and make sure you bring all the bottles of your medication.

No more thumping for now. Just when a wave of panic comes through. I talked to my pdoc and she said to stop the new med and go back on the old one. She has someone covering her vacation so I can call the office tomorrow if I have trouble. I see my T tomorrow as well so I am sure we can reesolve things tomorrow.

I can't make it through another day like today. I am still having anxiety in waves and a weird feeling in my head llike I am out of my body and a metallic taste, even after taking the propanolol.

The metallic taste can be a side affect of a medication. But check the side effects. Make sure your not having any of these first, just be aware of how your feeling. It might be a good idea to try and write them down.
We use this web site a lot at work.
When I have an attack, I also get that "swimming" feeling in my head. Splash some cold water on your face and try to focus on something positive. I mean, REALLY focus. I know it sounds impossible but try as hard as you can. Sometimes, it helps for me.

It was a little better when I brought my son to swimming, probably because I was focusing on driving. I was still getting some bursts of adrenalin.

My pdoc called me this afternoon and told me that I am probablby having an opposite reaction to Saphris. Instead of doing its job, it is making me manic-ish and panicy.

Boy is it uncomfortable.

sounds awful, I'm sorry that your meds did this. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
