I just have a sister, and she was not the unlucky sperm that won because she doesn't have BP.

My older sister was DXED with BPlast year.... we are very much alike and it actually didn't surprise me when she told me she was DXED... She is going to try and see a holistic doctor for her TX. HE current Doc put her on a AD but not MS also the AD has made her gain alot of WT.

Yes, there are 4 of us girls and out of us 4....3 of us have BP. It had to come from our mom because we all have different dads.

I have a sister and although she has never been diagnosed or even talked to her doctor about it, I wouldn't be surprised based on her behavior if she was at least depressed if not bp. I also wonder if she might have BPD because her mood changes are so so fast. I'm talking minutes.

One sister. Totally normal. She doesn't "get it". At all. But at least she IMs with me and doesn't say cruel things.

I have two sisters and three brothers. My sister is schizophrenic and my brother is borderline. My mother is the one that passed these wonderful gifts on to us.

I have two siblings, and I am the only one with BP. Actually, I'm the first in my entire family to get it! (Although we do have depression and anxiety in the family)

I have 3 sisters and none of them have bipolar. However, they, and my mother, have all had mild depression in the past. They don't totally get the severe depression or hypomania but they are pretty good about it. My mother is not always delicate - when I had to be hospitalized for suicidal thoughts and ECT she said, "oh, is it your thing again?" My thing.

I have 1 sister and 2 half siblings. My sister has anxiety/depression and ADD but I'm the only one "diagnosed". My mom has extreme anxiety also. My aunt was an alcoholic so I think my psych issues come from my mom's side. I think a terrible event in my childhood exacerbated my BP

I have one brother who has no mental health issues. In fact I am the first one in my family (close family and extended family) that has any kind of mental health issues. Lucky lucky me!

I am the only one out of 6 who has BP. One of my sisters had post-partum depression.

Have one sibling, a younger brother. He doesn't have any MI issues & is healthy as a horse.
My mom's side runs the gamut from A & D abuse to most of the MI health dx's. That includes me...

I have a sister, and she doesn't have a MI, though I think she has some anxiety, but who doesn't have that?

I got it from my dad's side of the family.

As far as I know all my brothers don't have it but than they probably wouldn't tell me if they did. It is highly likely that at least one of them does since my mom had it. She, however, never officially got dx'd or ever sought meds to control it. Being super intellectual she felt she could rise above it, sigh. I think she would have been much happier if she had sought treatment.

I have a younger sister who is a textbook narcissist. A complete nightmare. My older sister has undiagnosed m.i. which include paranoia and hallucinations. I am not aware of any other relatives with BP.

I have a transgendered sister who has Bipolar 2. She stays primarily in a state of hypo mania. She's a brilliant person who can do forty things at once. She has a high level job that sends her all over the world to do trouble shooting and provide innovative ideas of her own. She has OD'd a half dozen times....each time resulting in a visit to a psych ward. She has "controlled" at least half of her OD's, meaning she knows exactly how many pills and how much to drink to get herself into a hospital and out of a situation she's in.

My other sister is totally clueless. A narcissist who gives new meaning to the word "insensitive". There is (and won't be) any form of communication again.
