Hi my name is Leslie and I haven't been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I'm 17 and I get extremely depressed at times and want to kill myself. I guess those are the times I get severely depressed for no apparent reason. Sometimes I am overly happy. I can talk at what seems 150 words per second. I've looked up symptoms and usually I have ALL of them. Should I seek professional help soon?

Don't delay. Make arrangements to see a psychiatrist (not a psychologist) as soon as possible and if you have to wait for an appointment and have thoughts of suicide in the meantime go straight to the hospital emergency room. There is help (and hope) for the way you are feeling and a lot of people in this forum understand what you're going through.

Welcome to PC. I agree with ohlala, a diagnosis is a great place to start. then you can try to find some meds that work and get some therapy. You will probably have to wait for a psych appt. We are here to support you through your journey.

YES, the sooner the better, things can grow out of control and get worse for you.
