As you know, I left work nearly two weeks ago because of bp symptoms and a few days before that I had hallucinated at work. Prior to this id called per worried that i was ramping up through hypomanis. They blew me off. I told the boss that I didn't feel well and he said I should go home. That was a Thursday.

Friday came and I wasn't well but I was being kind to myself- just reading etc. Saturday came and I broke down sobbing and turned Sui. I went to per. Put on Zyprexa. I'd tried to deal with things but still felt Sui a week or so later. I kept taking my emotion-nulliing med.

Then the temp agency calls and wants to know what's up, today. I explained that I'd turned in my drs note. They said they never got it! I told them that I was sick and the note said till my dr signed off on going back. I really didn't feel I needcto explain the ins and outs of being bipolar. Like someone will believe that I was hallucinating and not think it a fanciful excuse to cut out of work!

So I don't know what to do. This sucks. Should I attempt another less stressful job?

Docs are suppose to make a copy of work notes and put them in your chart. If you call Pdoc office they maybe able to fax note to this employer for you. By law you are not required to tell your employer the specifics regarding your illness, you have a doc note that's all they need to know- unless you choose to divulge more info. for some reason.

As far as returning to work, my pdoc said the rule of thumb is being stable for at least 2-3 weeks prior to returning to work.

My pdic said nothing when I saw her about being stable and returning to work. I feel kinda zoned right now. Maybe the 2nd Zyprexa or who knows but it's welcome.

The easiest thing is to find a job that you truely love doin and doesnt stress you out. Or one that everyone else seems to have mi issues also. like nightshift at a coal mine.
