I am so afraid to do this. Working and having to be somewhere seems impossible. It is only two hours on Monday mornings, and I will be working with cats, feeding them, changing the litter, playing with them...

I know it is going to be good for me, but I am scared to death.

I feel like I want to blow off the orientation. It's in two hours.
Thanks for this!

I love cats. I have a sleek black cat at home. She's a great Halloween cat. She is just really sweet. She gets out of the house a lot so I worry about her. She always comes back.

I think you will do great too! I know what you mean tho, I am going to the volunteer bereau next week and am already nervous. Maybe try not to even give it another thought for the next two hours. I think it's a really great thing you are doing.

I couldn't get there. I left my house and started driving. It is raining outside so when I got to the highway it was hard to see. Suddenly, I was getting disoriented, and drifting into other lanes. It's like I forgot how to drive. I pulled over and called my husband and I decided to come home. I thought going another way through roads might be better. I was so disoriented that I must have taken a wrong turn, but I don't remember it, and ended up on the high way again. This happened last night too when I went out with my mom, but it wasn't as bad.

I will have to reschedule. I was brave, though, I tried to get there.
Thanks for this!

You were so brave! Driving thru rain is scary, & for good reason--it's dangerous! I'm so glad you're okay.

When you do finish your orientation & get working with the cats, you can tell them all about what you went thru to get to them. They love to hear stories, especially the really scared ones. I work with shelter cats (the scared & old ones who have trouble getting adopted). You can make such a difference in their lives.

So be very brave indeed, do it all again (but without the rain, we hope), & let us know when to pull for you! I'm all in, believe me.

OH sorry that happened.... You were brave! Just try again another time.

I go back to work this Monday after being on disability for 2 months. I feel I'm ready since I'm sooooo bored, but I'm nervous too.

Maybe you might just not be ready yet......Its so hard to say...I remember years ago after I got out of the hospital my logical brain wanted to do all this stuff but the emotional side was still not ready to cope. My Dr. even agreed....so I took it slower and got better in my own time. We are full of "shoulds" and anyone in AA knows what that means...Bottom line we are ready when we are ready.

Feel better, get stronger. Sometimes its so hard to know what to do....but I learned that doing nothing sometimes is the best at the time, and thats our choice as well.

Thinking of you;

Hugs;

To persevere and reschedule, good for you, BNLsMOM! You WERE brave! And you can do it again. I TOTALLY understand the driving disorientation thing (OMG and how!). Maybe next time it won't be raining, or you can take a test drive during the day to learn your way there, or someone else could drive you... a number of options there.

Meanwhile, be sure to give yourself big kudos for venturing!
Thanks for this!
