I have been taking pills like Norco with my klonopin. It makes me feel so good in a time where I am really really depressed.
I know I shouldn't do it, but I can't stop myself. How do you keep yourself from doing it? Even though it feels SOOOO good.

Damn, I don't know. Being newly diagnosed, I'm only just feeling this kind of temptation. I'm on Depakote and Sertraline atm... keep thinking I could lose the Depakote and double the dose of Sertraline to 200mg. I know it'd give me shed loads of energy, instead of me sleeping fourteen hours a day.
I think I'll discuss it with my GP as I see him this week, and my CPN who I see next week. If I put it down on my list of things to discuss, then it'll be out in the open, and they will probably give me good reasons for adhering to things, I'm sure... Good luck! |

I don't know what Norco is, but it is probably irrelevant for me to know it.
A few weeks ago I was having trouble with alcohol and wanting to drink more so that I could boost my mood. I went to PC for advice and someone told me to try to abstain for 30 days. I am almost there and haven't had a drink. I also don't want to as much as I did before. I am thinking that maybe you could promise yourself to abstain from mixing the two drugs together for an amount of time. Catch it now before it is a problem. The issue with both of them is that they also are both "depressants"... Not saying they don't make you feel good right now, but they can also make your mood even lower than it is.
I would say if you had anxiety or any kind of mania you could take a dose of klonopin as needed- per MD order of course. But if you're not in pain don't take the vicodin for pleasure purposes. Not saying I don't TOTALLY understand though....

I agree with djmart. More than feeling blue, they can depress your breathing- meaning slow it down. Not good.

Thanks everyone. I only have a few Norco left anyways, so I think I will be able to quit. I have to stop now and try to get through the weekend because I would hate to see my pdoc on monday and have to admit that I couldn't quit the other pills besides the ones he has prescribed. I would feel really quilty and lower than low.
