I am not sleeping even though I am on lots of sleeping meds. I just toss and turn all night long. Then when I have to go to work I am exhausted. My doc said I am on a high dose of Seroquel that should knock anyone out like a light. I guess not me.
What do you do when you can't sleep?

I so relate to your problem ,,, My T and Pdoc AND primary care doctor swear i need a tranqulizer for a gigantic elephant to allow me to actuallly sleep half way decent ... I also take Seroquel it has slowed my brain down but I still have nites i just cant sleep ... what do I do ? toss turn and know that the next few days im going to be very annoyed by everything.. Currently these are the meds my doctor has me on .. Seroquel 300mg at nite xanax 1mg twice a day Lamictal 150 mg at nite Halcion .5mg at nite .. My pharmacy had to pulll me aside and warn me of taking all these " sedating" medications .. My Pdoc understands I have HUGE issues sleeping and Im 44 yeas old and have dealth with a racing mind and insomnia since I was a teenager . Just recently dianosed with BiPolar I so im wading thru alot of nonsense and trying new meds etc .. I hope you can find something that helps you on a consistance basis... I have found if my sleep is disrupted I can go right into a tailspin and becomes really unstable after only a couple nites Wishing you Love and Peace ![]() |

Lots and lots of valerian.... and then relaxing my muscles one by one and visualizing colors.... after few hours I pass out, with Jelena Karleusa's autotuned technoish Insomnia song playing in the back of my head about how I don't sleep anymore, not even as a hobby.
(yes, not too helpful, but that is what I do. I cannot sleep during the day, just cannot... I may feel tired, but I would not fall asleep even if I let myself).

I've been going through sleep problems too. It takes me forever to fall asleep, and then when I do I wake up every hour or two. My doctor doesn't understand why the meds he gave me aren't working and wants me to have a sleep study but I'm not going to. I have a hard time sleeping in strange places, no less with wires hooked up to me and cameras watching me.
I tried Valerian and it makes it worse! I know that sounds crazy but it's true. It's happened twice now. I try taking my ambien really early and it helps a little; |
