My cat Bobbie passed on Saturday and I am a mess. She was laying on a sleeping bag in the garage and she wouldn't get up. I talked to her for a while, then she meowed but no sound came out. There was blood on the sleeping bag and I felt she was dying, did not want to take her to the vet as I just thought she doesn't seem to be in pain, and I hoped she would get up, but she didn't. I dug a big hole in the yard for her. I kept checking to see if she was breathing, and she was. I asked my husband to go check on her, and he said she wasn't breathing so I asked him to put her in the hole, and I would cover her up, which I did.
She was such a sweet gentle soul she is so missed, I cry a lot. She never hurt anyone and was always a welcome sight after work, and this is a huge trauma to me.
Having a lot of trouble with my relationships, lashing out at a coworker today, and being unkind to my husband. I just want her here and hug her.

Oh, lad007.......I'm about to cry too. It's sooooooo sad to lose a beloved friend. Our animals are the dearest friends we have. From reading your description of her, I know that Bobbie was a special soul; a sweet, sweet soul who was always there for you. What a blessing to have been able to share part of your life with her. I think you continue to share it; she left her imprint on your heart. I will be thinking of you in your sorrow. Sadly, grey

I'm can understand the deep sorrow you are feeling. I have had several pets pass away. I had a cat, Kelly, that passed away when she was 17 and I was 15. I still miss her. It does get easier. Pets love you unconditionally and I don't really know where else you can find that on the earth. Hang in there.

Yeah, I understand being a mess. My cat died a yr ago & I still cry sometimes when a sudden memory grabs me. I feel badly for you, losing her so quickly that you had no chance to do anything.
Was she your first cat? Do you have other pets?
I hope the pain & sorrow lessens & you'll start telling us the warm & funny stories about her.

lad007, so sorry for your loss, it is gut-wrenching. Hate to see them suffer & then miss them so much.
Have lost many pets thru the years, each one has their precious memories.
Take care.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

I know exactly how you are feeling. We recently had to put our cocker spaniel, (our little buddy) down and the house feels so empty and without him here.

All I can tell you is that time will heal the pain, and you will be able to remember your kitty and smile at the memories.

It will take some time though, so in the meantime, grieve the loss as much as you can.

It will get better with time. I PROMISE!!!

I had a cat named Gizmo, whom I adoped from the humane society. I only had her for about 6 months before she stopped eating and became very, very ill. I took her to the vet only to find out that she had lymphoma.

In the short time that I had her, she became my best friend. I think she understood that I rescued her. She was always there to greet me, she always slept curled up by my feet at night. When I got home from work, she knew what my car door sounded like (we lived in an apartment) and lept from the window when she knew it was me coming down the hallway.

When she died I cried my eyes out, like I had not cried over anything since I was a little kid. And I'm a grown man.

I really DO know how you are feeling lad, and I promise that it does get better. I still get a teary eyed when I think of her, and that was 3 years ago now. But knowing that I made the last 6 months of her life better gives me some comfort. If it wasn't for me she would have died there in that humane society, all alone without ever having had a daddy like me.

Just think of all the hapiness you were able to give to Bobbie over the years. I'm sure you gave her a life that no one else could have. And I'm sure she loved you very much for that.
Thanks for this!
