I seen a nuerologiest for chronic HA and they placed me on Topamax. A medication that prevents chronic HA and also is currently being studies for a mood stabilizer, but with in four days of taking it, I think I was going crazy, two speeding tickets, no sleep for 3 days (didnt even feel tired) couldnt focus on any one task for more then a few minuets than off to the next tasks. Family was ready to tie me to the bed just to keep me safe. I was suicidal and didnt even care, no thoughts of how it would affect those around me.

thank goodness they removed the topamax, but curious if anyone else has experience rapid mood change with topamax?

ah, it took about two weeks to get back to me again.

Not on it now, but several years ago I took it for about 6 mos. It gave me blurry vision (couldn't drive at night), tingling extremities, and doped me up to an extent that my husband called the P-doc and said "What the h do you have her on?" I was really in la-la land. No mania for me on Dopamax...
