Tuesday I called Pdoc and he doubled my prozac from 20 to 40mg. i take 20 in morn and 20 at nigh, so tuesday was firstday on doubled dose. Last night I almost took myself to hospital because it was just that bad...this morning I feel really good. At ti es ke I could conquer the world. My pdoc is in question about bipolar so he has mood disorder nos. could i be slipping into a hypomanic state?? What do you think? i know that no one can diagnose...just getting an idea for possibilities.

Well, it's possible, for sure. Prozac was the first anti-depressant that made me manic...severely. I had paranoia, delusions, hallucinations, the works. Once they took me off prozac, I went back to normal. Not trying to scare you, it's just my experience with this particular medication.

I'd talk with your pdoc about any significant mood changes...you don't want to risk letting that hypomania switching to full-blown mania!

What other meds are you taking besides Prozac? Are you on a mood stabilizer? My P-doc doesn't rx AD's for BP without a mood stabilizer (Lithium, Depakote, Lamictal, etc.).
