Hi everyone, tomorrow I have to go for the med change appt. again.
Going to take me off Latuda, it actually made me very agitated, and my breasts grew like I was pregnant! I was diagnosed with Sev bipolar II w/psychotic features. I'm taking Lithium, the doc is going to ask me what I'm interested in. I loved Zyprexa, but, blew up in a couple of days. Any suggestions? I know we are not Dr.'s. but. experience is really good. Zydis is another form of zyprexa which is supposed to have less weight gain. It's not covered for me here but I would have loved to try it. I didn't have much weight gain if any on Thorazine but it stopped working for me relatively quickly. Abilify worked with less weight gain than zyprexa but it wasn't strong enough to keep the psychosis at bay. Anyways that's my experience with the antipsychotics.
I hope you can find something that works. It really sucks that they havnt figured out more meds minus the weight. On zyprexa I put on 20 lbs overnight seemingly while engaging in severe anorexic behavior, what's going on there ? Good luck at your app. Let us know how it goes. |

Have you tried Geodon? It's really helped me with the psychosis. I'm on 160 mg, the max dose.

Have you tried Invega? It worked really well for me while I was on it but depending on your insurance it can be expensive. It's classed as an antipsychotic but I noticed it really helped to keep my mania in check. Best of Luck!
