I take mine with food and still get extremely nauseous. The only luck I've had with that is the extended release version. If that's what you mean?

If you try milk and or food and it persists then I would think about the xr. Also with the extended release I had alot less hand tremors.

To be exact - my question is whether you SHOULD take it with milk or food for absorption rather than whether you COULD take it with food to avoid stomach upset and nausea - that I know.

Sorry, guess I didn't quite understand.

For best absorption, lithium should be taken immediately after food or milk. Because lithium can cause a reduction in body salt levels, it is important to maintain a well-balanced diet.

That is the only thing I could find.

It doesn't look as tho there is much written about it. Sorry I couldn't help. I've never read anything about the absorption before.

A glass of juice and a small-sized portion of food are best when taking lithium.
