So, I've had auditory hallucinations before, but not for years and years. Close to ten years. But never a voice.
So, this morning I'm taking my shower. I had my back to the curtain. All of a sudden over my right shoulder, from outside the curtain someone whispers very loudly "Hey!" ![]() I know it wasn't my husband's voice. I didn't hear the bathroom door open or close. No footsteps. If it had been my husband he would laugh. He likes to joke around, so if he scares you he is going to laugh, not run and hide. It was a male voice, though.... ![]() Scared me to death... Hopefully that's it and not a bad sign....

Creepy! I know things are going well for you, but I usually hear any voice during a manic episode... Is there anything you may be ousing aside? Fears, according to my doctor, can also trigger something like this... i know also wih a new baby fears arise... Maybe its your subconsious side coming out... But if you see a therapist, I would definitely bring out up to them. Voices are never necessarily good, but lets hope its you just being afraid, and that its some freak chance that this happened. Im sorry I cant be of much help... I wish you all the best!

Wow, sounds so much like the hallucination I had about a week ago...I was walking down the street and heard a male say "Hey!" right outside of my right ear and then a female say "Hey!" right outside my left ear. I looked around, and nobody was there. Either way though, I knew it had to be a hallucination because it was loud enough that the person would have had to be right beside me.
It's always unnerving to experience hallucinations - but it's good that you were able to recognize that it wasn't real. Hopefully there won't be any more. ![]() |

Is this really a hallucination?? If so I have dealt with it all my life, just thought I was thinking to hard or something. It really shouldn't scare you unless you suffer severe psychotic episodes. Don't panic yet. I think those of us with bi polar watch ourselves to close, looking for signs.

I agree, I think that I hear noises and sometimes but they really are never there. I did bring it up to the doctor and he says that can happen in someone who is bipolar, it happens most often when i am switching moods

This happens to me to, I hear the Hey in my ear, it comes and goes. I've kind of learned to live with it, it's scary, just realize no one is there. If you are super worried call the pdoc.
Hang in there, you are not alone. |
