I have been working at the same job for over 8 years, and love my job but am finding it more and more difficult to juggle my job, my children, life, and my illness....I wish that I could like take off for like an extended period of time.... I know about fmla and also about short and long term disability at work, but my pdoc would never allow me ( she would never fill out the paperwork required ) to allow me a leave of absence.... I feel like i am going to scream.... I just don't know what to do.....UGH!!!!!

Is it possible to take a "vacation" - you know, the usual sort of up to 2 weeks? That might be enough respite to help you regain a little balance.

I'm in control of my own time off, more or less, but that ends up being much more harsh than my hubby's full-time job, because I work to the job and not the hours.

I would find a new doctor. One who understands that sometimes you need to take the time to address your health and one who respects your opinion about your own needs. I was in a similar situation and was headed for an inpatient stay, but my pnurse thought she knew best. This was after she had spent the last year telling me how good my insight was. I found a new doc and it has made all the difference.
