I am just wondering if this is a side effect of medication? I have always been a person who was always cold. Now I find the last couple of months I am always hot. Everyone in my house will be cold and I am burning up. I find I have to go outside in the cold winter air to cool off, which is not good because the doctor called friday after having a bunch of test done and now I have pneumonia. I have changed meds in the past couple of months. Has anyone else had a problem with this?

I too use to be cold and now i'm hot all the time. I thought it was just me getting older and having a baby that may have changed my body. Have you asked your doc. about it?

Definitely talk to your doc or pdoc about it. Sweating can be a side effect of some meds, or a sign of a regular doc type illness. If it were me, I'd start with my pdoc, as it is more likely to be a med effect.

Sorry to hear about your pneumonia, that really is a pain. Take good care of yourself, and let us know what the sweating turns out to be, please.

That's happened to me as well. I am always freezing, but some meds make me feel hot.

I get excessive sweating from Wellbutrin, and for awhile during Lamictal titration I was having night sweats but that was mercifully brief.

It doesn't keep me from feeling cold, though. I'm cold but sweaty all the time. It's the worst side effect I've noticed.
Thanks for this!

Also take into account that you are fighting pneumonia so that could make you feel hot as well.

Lamictal gives me night sweats too. Not that I needed any extra help with that. lol. But I am warmer than I used to be.

Are you taking an antipsychotic? These also deregulate the body's abilty to cool down. This was a problem for me while taking them.

Im not sure. I take zoloft, seroquel, tegretol. Not sure if any of those are antipsychotic? I am hoping its something like just needing to change meds and not something thats unknown to the doctors.

Seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic, seroquel did make me overheat. Usually on the med pamphlet it will explain the disregulation of body temp, and say to avoid things such as exercising strenuously, exposure to heat ect.

When I have taken antipsychotics, I go from being a person who is freezing all the time, to being hot all the time. Just one thing to look into.

I hope you get better from the pneumonia soon.

I went to see my pdoc today. He lowered my seroquel down to 200mg and said we have to just keep lowering it slowly. I guess its a hard one to go off of. Im so happy to know whats wrong with me and it will go away. Plus this med has been causing me to pile on the pounds. Thanks for your advice. :-)
