I am a dreamer by nature but sometimes it is hard to have faith in my dreams when I struggle with so many disabilities. I have epilepsy, chronic migraines, and bipolar 1 disorder. I haven't been able to work in four years. Instead of going on SSI I decided to go to college and use disability access. So far I have been in school for three years and have only failed one class. I want to help create better treatment for people with these disorders focusing on the positive attributes attributed to neurodiversity. This last year has been very difficult. I had to spend three weeks in the hospital. SOmetimes I want to give up and become a couch potatoe

(((Bluematador))) what you are doing is beautiful. I have chronic migraines, depression and fibromyalgia. I also have dissociation disorder. I work so i dont lose my house. I know it's really difficult. My friend has epilepsy and i see her struggle with it. Only you can decide if you are pushing ypurself too hard. I would hate for your health to suffer, but i dont want you to give up your dreams. Just take it easy, one step at a time, and whatever you decide, was right for you. Hugs.

I think its wonderful that you are in school. wish I had the courage to go back. I'm bipolar and I also have had 2 heart attacks. I've had more than my fair share of psychotic episodes and frequently I hear voices. My psychiatrist has told me on several occasions to file for disabilty. I work full time as a nurse and sometimes I really struggle to keep my head together but it is worth it. It's nice to be independent and its good for self esteem. Follow your dreams. It will be hard but in the end you won't regret it.

Your story is really inspiring! I have always admired nurses. I no longer fit into a 9-5 schedule but I am not completely disabled either. I want to contribute to my community. I wish there was more opportunities for someone in my position. I guess I will just have to create a niche of my own.
