So I'm pretty much stuck in the mud. About a month ago, I stopped 3 antidepressants and 2 sleep meds at one time. Then I went to the doctor, who is currently supervising me. I talked with my mentor, who was my old therapist, and she told me that most people with bipolar take an antidepressant and a sleep med in addition to their mood stabilizer. I went back to the doctor, but it is taking a long time to get meds because I have state health insurance and am going to college out of state.
Meanwhile, I'm feeling depressed. I've been butting heads with my ex who lives in my dorm. I've been so lazy that I haven't showered in 6 days, and I look too horrible to go to the dining hall. I feel paralyzed in my room. Yesterday I was out and about, but everyone I saw kept asking me if I was ok. I must have looked pretty bad, and I don'tt want people to see me like this. Any advice? |

But why is it taking a long time to get meds? Have they been prescribed? Is the insurance not wanting to cover them? I am not clear on what you are saying. Have you let the doctor know that you have not been able to get them yet? Some things you probably know but sometimes it helps hearing from other people is that you should go ahead and jump in the shower and get out of the room. Try to get outdoors, go to the mall, anything. It might seem too hard or the last thing you want to do, but give it a try. I have not showered today either ![]()

there are a lot of meds that are generic and can be had for 4 bucks a month that's almost affordable even for a student, no? you might want to look into that.
