I don't know how many people here are on facebook, but I decided a while ago that I have way too many normal friends that I have zero in common with, other than we're human.

Anyways, since I think I found a group of people I relate with, I thought maybe we could get on each others' pages. This might be a crazy idea.. It wouldn't be my first.

I closed down my facebook account because of all the changes, otherwise, I'd be first in line to say yes!

oh it's cool. Hehe I know it's stupid now, but I still have a ton of friends that use it and I always post stupid stuff that noone understands. Plus I get tired of hearing how frigging happy everyone is. Haha

Would, but I'm "Facebook Free"! Lol. Held out a long time, finally relented, gave it a good shot, wasn't for me. Closed it a long time ago now. Haven't missed it one iota.
It is a good idea though.

I don't even know why I'm on it. I have lots of friends and family on it I guess is the only reason why, but again, i have little or nothing in common with any of them.. Or so I feel. Even peeps that play music. I'm like "oh cool" and thats about it.

Oh well, are you on any social networking sites? Just out of blatent curiosity.

I also shut down my Facebook - I hated the privacy issues, hated having HS people contacting me, and having 650 "friends" was just asking for trouble with my speak-before-thinking impulsivity.

Well now that they are trying to bring in laws regarding using alias names on these sites I closed mine down too. I only used it to share photos with my mom and a few friends who live far away. However due to having to "hide" out from my violent ex husband, I am not about to use my real name on sites like facebook, I do NOT want to be found. Guess I just won't use them. Google+ actually suspended my account until I would submit a real name.

G+ has actually lifted their "real name only" ban at this point, for the curious.

Good to know Nacht, I used a name that sounded real, first and last. How did they know ?? That I don't know.
Thanks for this!

Someone may have reported it or it might have been different than your name on the attached Google account. I saw it happen a couple of times to other people before Google realized that there was really no way to be fair about it (and seriously what is the harm in using a pseudonym anyway?) and rolled back the real name only thing. It's the one time I've ever gotten annoyed at them for something.

...I have a few friends from other forums on my Facebook, so I don't see why I shouldn't extend this to the amazing PC community (:

I don't advertise my FB on open forums because I don't know who has access to it.

If I have chit-chatted w/you before and you PM me, I'd be willing to add whomever.

I keep my Facebook to keep in touch with people I don't see very often I don't add people I've never metvorvspoken too. Something to consider though.
