i spend a lot of time planning but when i get to actually doing the work, even if its something fun that i look forward to, like reading a book, i just make time for it later. with my studies, i'm always convinced that i CAN do this and its EASY for me but when i get to actually studying, i'm never focused enough, always like i can't reach my true potential. i can't do what i know i can. just keep putting off doing it. do you have any tips or advice that can help?
Thanks for this!

Eh, I'll answer this post later...

Kidding.

I've had the same issue. Couple things I like to think about 1) long term benefits. Right now you're down on yourself for procrastinating, you want to avoid that feeling again and maybe enjoy the benefits of not procrastinating with success and less stress but, 2) I really anjoy the stress of cramming for a deadline. Side note, I do think I used to procrastinate a lot because I was afraid of failure like, maybe if I did try I wouldn't live up to all I was told I was capable of but, if you're procrastinating to the point of failure, that doesn't make much sense now does it? So, I set goals and worked up from there.

With those things in mind and being aware of my abilities, I can manage to put things off to the very last minute and still do well.

Figure out your motivations to procrastinate and go from there.
Thanks for this!

I procrastinate when it comes to chores so I set a timer and when it goes off I do that chore. I suggest you break down your homework and anything else you need to do into 15 minute tasks, set a timer and go to it. You can stop when the 15 minutes is up or keep going. When you do stop, reset the timer, giving yourself some time off until you need to start working again for that 15 minutes.
Thanks for this!

That is helpful, thank you
i've been thinking, and its definitely fear of failure that causes it. but more like, failing to live up to expectation, disappointing myself and everyone. i know it doesn't make sense, but i keep waiting for a clear mind and when that doesn't happen i just give up.
i'm going to try setting a timer and get more organized. wish me luck

I procrastiate often too. I think mostlly its when i am overwhelmed and dont know what to do first. When I think too much about it I never even get to start. I need to learn to just pick somethig and go for it without thinking whats most important. Because the nothing gets done and I stress even more.

Exactly! there's too much going on in my head. I really do need to take a more simple approach to things. one step at a time. hope that works. good luck
