Hi all,

For those of us that cope with the monster that is bi-polar, the National Institute of Mental Health posted this article from last month's issue of Science magazine. It talks about how Lithium can help regulate our "body clock" to keep cycling in check. I thought some of you may be interested in it.

It also helps protect mylen sheath that protects our nerve endings, which can be stressed and frayed due to numerous things happening in our bods/minds.
Lithium is a beneficial med. with the longest track record of all the mood stabilizers. Heck, my brother has been on it about 30 years and has done just fine. FYI - Interesting information about Lithium & its effects on bi-polar disorder
Warm wishes for happiness and healing to all.

I have been on lithium for a year now and it works wonderfully. I do believe it caused me to gain maybe 10 poinds but that at the beginning as it made me drag for a while. ALso, I did read somewhere that lithium has been known to boost your immune system. Amazingly, I have not gotten sick once this year!
