Hello! I was indeed a corporate lawyer and suffered with depression and anxiety. I left after 5 years in practice, for reasons unrelated to my mental health and sadly have done worse since leaving (don't worry - nothing to do with leaving!).
I found it ok - its important to be honest with the right people. I didn't want many people knowing at all, so when things got bad I told my big boss and for everyone else, that was a no. You have to do what feels right but also look out for yourself x

I am not in the legal profession, but am a business owner. My mother recently died and I have taken over the family business 4 months ago. It has been hard as I don't know these people and have not shared my illness with them. I am struggling with depression right now (I wish it were mania) and it is hard to get through every day, but I am.

Before I moved here, I was a social Service Director at a long term psychiatric hospital. I was able to discuss some of my issues with co-workers that I had come to trust. It did help me get through the difficult times. Also during this time I was hospitalized a couple of times and fortunately they were understanding.

I think that you will make a great lawyer!!!

Used to be a law student until I got kicked out a few months from graduation because of manic actions that resulted in legal trouble. I did eventually get my MBA in accounting.
