Now I'm going to the library to use their computers. I find out monday what damage i've done. I think the hard drive is toast. AARRRGGGHHH!!! I get so mad. I have had these episodes since i was a teen. It's comforting to now know it's the bipolar and not me, but is there anything I can do to stop them? Is there a med., is there therepy, whitchcraft, Voo Doo, prayer, ANYTHING! that will help. This is accompanied by the usual deppression and GUILT. I just checked my journal, it's been since Jan. 20th that I've had any kind of episode worth noting. I hope I'm not slipping into something bad. HELP!

lumictal 300
lithium 300
resperdone 1mg
plus my insulin and diabetes med.

captain1... can relate all too well. In fact, plan this weekend to repair a hole in the wall from one a few weeks ago. As for help, I have found them to be less frequent since meds. Perhaps an adjustment? Have you noticed any other things going amiss? Things that have indicated an oncoming episode before? Good to have a list, as it can be hard to determine in the midst of their happening. Do you have one listing your own personal indicators?

I've read that AEDs are good meds for rage:

depakote
topamax
gabapentin

And let's not forget Lamictal among the AEDs.
That one has been what's helped me. (I do see that you are already on it, captain1, everyone is different of course, and then there are the particular mixes...)

I know these rages are difficult to see coming, and therefore hard to prevent. I've had similar outbursts or rages as you describe. The best I can do is try to be very vigilant of how I feel leading up to an event -- what there some small annoyance that multiplied over time? Was there a warning sign, even a small one, that I could have used as to indicate my irritability/rage was on the rise. If so, I try to step away for 20-30 min if i can to go for a walk, etc.
