I cant even read a sentence completely on these threads anymore, I keep jumping from one area to another area of words and it doesn't make sense anymore. I can't read like I used to. I'm finding it harder to focus on my design work, things take forever for me to accomplish. Feel like something is missing- like part of my brain. My pdoc says the lamictal is probably the cause of me forgetting words sometimes. Sometimes I stutter too. Where is my brain going

I couldn't remember anything or focus when my doctor put me on 400 mg of Lamictal. I went off it because he wasn't listening and when I agreed to go back on the guy finally figured out that 200 mg is better.
Or accepted 200 is better than 0.

Maybe you need to lower the dosage?

Just because 200 works for me doesn't mean you don't need a lower dosage plus, I'm on hormonal contraceptives which changes the way I metabolize the lamictal and 200 mg could be considered as less than that compared to someone not on "the pill."

It takes forever to go up in dosing with lamictal, how were you 50 or even 100 mg ago?

DH and I am only on 100mg of lamictal. However for me those things you mentioned are the signs that I'm becoming hypo-manic or manic.

I have been that way before too. Do you think it could be a certain medicine causing it? Thats what it was with me. It does come back to you though, maybe not all the way but it will get better if it is the medication. Once you can get off of it completely your ability to read and comprehend should come back. I believe mine was the combination of geodon and pristiq not sure if it was just one or both since i went off of them at the same time. I was also on neurontin and went off of it around the same time. These meds can really do some bad stuff cant they?

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
