youre in the right place.

cyclothymia is a 'milder' form of bipolar disorder. but mild to me may not feel mild to you.

welcome to pc.
Thanks for this!

Its been a little over a week since I found out Im cyclothymiac...which is basically bi-polar...At first I was happy to FINALLY discover what "it" is...now Im like "oh crap"and wanting to deny it...Im a recovering alcoholic, drug addict and s-x addict so I realize whats going on...Has this been your experience, too?

What you have is in the bipolar spectrum... so, I'm sorry, but you are bipolar. It may have a different name, but don't feel like you don't belong just because of that! I am bipolar II, so I don't get full blown Manichean episodes that can land me in the hospital or worse thank goodness, but that doesn't mean I should pack up and go! And neither should you! I know its easy to get caught up in that whole "I'm more bipolar than you" mindset, and people do it for fun sometimes, but don't worry! Its really not like that! What we all have is a mental illness, and I am happy that you are getting help and support for it! I know its hard, I do. I know about insecurities. But try and relax, because at the end of the day, you and me and all the other bipolars out there, we're all in this together!
